It is very easy to fall into the trap of blame. Life happens so we can't get to our exercise routine, diet, or quiet time for meditation or reflection. We blame life... because it is easy and it seems to be what happens to everyone.
What if life happens but we choose to honor our commitments to exercise, diet, or reflection? How do we do that? It takes one simple step, do the most important thing first every day. If exercise is an important commitment, then do it first. If diet is important then cook, prepare, and arrange meals so that you will honor the diet all day long. If reflection, meditation, or planning is important then do it first.
Life happens but its much easier to let it happen if we know we have made our needs a priority. Do what you need first. Dance to your own music... make it the first dance.
Do you have a "To Do List?" Do you hold onto the list and let it haunt you because you haven't completed tasks? Why? Does that effort and energy make you feel better? Will the bad feelings, effort and energy help to get the tasks completed on the list?
Each day take a fresh sheet of paper and make a new list. Look at what needs to be done and see if there are others that can help or take over the responsibility for items on the "To Do List." Make your "To Do List " a "Who Will Do List". Let some of the tasks fall off of the list.
Make choices and pick your battles. In a week, month, or year will it matter that the shelves were dusted? will it matter that you spent time with your loved one and that you have wonderful memories? Put more fun and adventure on your "To Do List". Do more fun and joyful things because it is a "To Do List."

Self Care Tip - Embrace Your Anger
How many times have you heard someone say, "He's angry, I wouldn't go in there right now." So you avoided the anger and the person? Did you learn that anger is to be avoided? Did you learn that anger was bad or should be avoided?
Anger is an honest emotion. Anger isn't the villain. It is the way people respond to anger that creates problems. Anger can be a very easy way to recognize that we are over extended, tired, or not taking care of ourselves. One easy way to test this is to pay attention to when you become angry.
Embrace your anger and let it be your gauge so that you will have better information about what you enjoy and how you are feeling. Let it be your indicator that you may need to reduce your commitments or take time to rest and recharge.
Use anger as a way to confront and work through problems. Embrace anger as a gift... not something to be ignored or avoided. See anger as a friend that will tell you there are things that need attention.
Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead. -- Louisa May Alcott
