Self Care Focus: Are You a Peace Maker?By Jo Cavanaugh
All you need to do is watch television or read the daily newspaper. We are bombarded with news about war, strife, and conflict on our planet. People will always have differences and sometimes they will escalate into war.
So what can we do to promote peace? We can be the light that we seek. Peace begins with ourselves. We can be the peace that we seek. It only takes a few minutes to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Embrace the silence and peace that is within us all.
In the process of feeling peace we have a new focus. We can see solutions to problems that were overwhelming only moments before. It is the daily practice of finding peace that makes you a peace maker.
Start today and see how we can be the light that we seek... the peace that we want in our own lives.

Words of Encouragement
Believe In Your DreamsBy Kenia Morales
Believe in your dreams was the encouragement all over Disney World. What a great message to share with the visitors enjoying a fun family vacation! It was a great addition to the excitement of witnessing how the world of fairytales unraveled right before our eyes. Funny thing, but I believe that I was more excited than my daughters. I will also say that, I was not the only adult that felt this way. Many of my friends back home confessed to visiting the place several times. In such a magical place the believing in your dreams message certainly seemed to fit in perfectly.
Walter Elias Disney (December 5, 1901–December 15, 1966) was the founder of Disneyland. He started with his first cartoon character Mickey Mouse and move on to creating many more. Later Disney World was created. In my opinion Mr. Walter was a person that we can truly call an exceptional leader. Not only was he gifted with a great imagination but he was able to materialize them in order to share them with the rest of us. While keeping in mind Mr. Disney’s visions, I can easily see why in Disney World so many of the fascinating characters encourage visitors to believe in their dreams.
Now, let’s talk about you, what are your dreams, visions, goals etc? What is holding you back? Could it be fear of failure, to appear foolish in front of others? To tell you the truth, I cannot tell you what is holding you back exactly. Only you can figure that out but, whatever it is find a way to get past them. If you need some type of inspiration remember how Mr. Walter brought to life his spectacular ideas. So whatever your dreams maybe give it a try. That’s the first and most important thing you must do, Believe in yourself! I am sure that a lot of hard work is going to be involve in to accomplishing your goals but; believing in yourself is essential to get started and staying motivated when things do not turn out as expected. It’s simple if you do not believe in yourself; you probably will not even give your dreams a try.
Best Wishes,
Kenia Morales

Messages for Caregivers
There is a very funny story about the hard-hat worker sitting on the skyscraper having lunch with his workmate and complaining "Cheese sandwiches again. All I ever get is cheese sandwiches." Worker next to him asks: "Why don't you ask your wife to make you something different?"
He answers: "I pack my own lunch."
What does this story have to do with caregiving and your life? Well, who is packing your lunch? Who is in control of your life? Are you giving away your power and blaming your life's fortune on another? on caregiving?
Take a few minutes to stop, breath, and focus on the peace within. You will find the answer is there in the silence and the peace when we stop to listen.
Cheese sandwiches are good but I vote for Peanut Butter and Jelly. How about you?

Self Care Tip
Bring Balance to LifeBy Neil M.
When you think of living a balanced life, think about Robin Hood. Hood lived a spirited life, while endeavoring to harmonize the imbalance of wealth - pinching from the rich and shelling it out the poor - he communed with nature and attended to the work-life balance like a saint - partying with his mates and dating the fairest maiden in the land. Yet today, many of us seem to struggle in the most uncomfortable way of living, nose to the grindstone, shoulder to the wheel and ear to the ground - the most uncomfortable way to live, if you ask me.
And we’re challenged by other things too…
Some of us struggle with confidence. Maybe we feel too fat, or too thin, maybe we believe our thighs are too wobbly or our nose too big. We might feel like we lack resources like money or education…
But don’t let these things get to you. I take heart from Walt Disney where ugly guys get the girl, like in Beauty and the Beast; where Hercules conquered all and the Seven Dwarfs sorted out the old witch and sang their hearts out while getting the job done and where people can turn up in a carriage that looks decidedly like a pumpkin and no-one bats an eyelid.
Well, I don’t know about you, but I have, at times, felt like life is an uphill struggle. I’ve felt disgruntled and let down with the way events, sometimes a year, turned out. I’ve snarled bitterly at romance, been obese, had financial troubles and been verbally and physically abused in a relationship. Maybe your experience is similar, maybe a little different, slightly better or worse, but I’m sure we can empathize with each other and maybe even share a little feeling of disillusionment with life in general.
But this word “disillusionment” is interesting. It makes me wonder how I came to be disillusioned. Because to come to a place of “disillusionment” must mean I that there had to be an original “illusion”. And, I guess, that this illusion might have been shaped by the values of society and the wonders of Disney: work hard for a living, marry for life – in other words grow up, be a hero and find a princess.
No easy task, eh?
But what are your illusions, my new friend? What did you hope to have found in life before you stumbled on my article? Who did you hope to be? Who did you hope to love? What were your dreams?
How will you change it?
Today, I’m incredibly blessed. I am surrounded by millionaires - outstanding advisors: people with simple, wise philosophies who want to share for the greater good. I have a wonderful relationship, enjoy the flow of financial abundance and live in a location that can only be described as divine.
What changed?
Me. My thoughts. I took responsibility for everything. I decided I would be everything I could be. I learned from my experiences, writing down everything I had learned, positive or negative: what I liked and didn’t like about my previous partners, finances and experience of life; what I would and wouldn’t tolerate from that day on; who I intended to be; how I intended to behave and what I wanted my life to be about.
I set out on a mission, not to doubt who I could be, but to know, I could have it all, if I chose it. You can do the same.
If you are feeling disillusioned with life right now, then look back three or four paragraphs and find some ways to change things around. Ask good questions and surround yourself with outstanding men and women, who are reaching out to you with a helping hand, if you want to take it…
